Don’t Accept The Status Quo!
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).
It’s important for you to know that you have a choice in life. You don’t have to accept what life hands out to you or settle for mediocrity; don’t accept the status quo. The Holy Spirit, who is the power of God has come into your life and brought into you the dynamic ability to cause changes! If the circumstances of your life don’t favour you in any way, you can change them! As a matter of fact, no one else can change then but you.
For example, you might have been born into a family where the normal progression is for the members to grow up poor, and then pass the same trend to their children. But when you learn from the Word that you’ve received an inexhaustible inheritance; based on this information from God’s Word, you should declare, “I refuse to be poor! I’m an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ! I dwell in prosperity!” That way, you’ve chosen to alter the existing state of affairs; you’ve rejected the status quo.
The Bible says “be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2); refuse the status quo! Use the Word of God as your standard, and chart a different course for your life.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to live by your Word. I know I can never be disadvantaged since your Word is the standard with which I’m charting my course in life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
