Soul Wining – Your Paramount Responsibly!
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work (John 4:34).
On a certain occasion, Jesus and His disciples were on a journey from Judaea to Galilee, and the Bible says “Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well” (John 4:5-6). The Master was exhausted, and needing to rest, sat beside a well. Shortly after, a Samaritan woman came to draw water and Jesus used the occasion to preach the Good News of the Kingdom to her.
Excited, the woman ran to call others in the city to come and see the Messiah. At this point, the disciples, who had gone into the city to buy food returned and said to the Master. “…Aren’t you going to eat?” (John 4:31 MSG), and Jesus replied “I have food to eat you know nothing about” (John 4:32 MSG). This puzzled the disciples “Who could have brought him food?” they asked one another. The Master’s response was simply remarkable: He said, “The food that keeps me going is that I do the will of the One who sent me, finishing the work he started” (John 4:34 MSG).
What a confession! Jesus by this statement emphasized soul winning as His paramount responsibility. Though He was physically tired and hungry (John 4:5-6), the opportunity to win souls into the Kingdom was more important to Him than satisfying His physical hunger. This is the example He has left for us to follow. Nothing ought to be more important to you as a child of God than reaching others with the gospel of Christ’s salvation.
Let soul winning and soul winning activities be what you price the most in life. Soul winning is God’s number one job, and it’s a job for every one of us – it’s our paramount responsibility. You ought to be more diligent in soul winning than you would your job, business or education; for all those are opportunities given to you by God to preach he gospel. Discover true fulfillment and satisfaction in life, as you make soul winning your utmost priority.
Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for the glorious gospel of Christ’s salvation which is committed to my trust. I declare that your work of preaching the gospel is of utmost priority in my life; I ask that you open my eyes to always see opportunities to preach the gospel, leading men and woman to Christ everywhere I go, in Jesus’ Name! Amen.

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
