Spiritual Armour prayer for everyday

In Jesus’ name I start to pray,

Your cross my victory sign.

The helmet of salvation

I put on to guard my mind.



The breastplate of Your righteousness

Upon my heart I wear.

My loins be girded with Your truth

For all I say or hear.



My shoes shall be the Gospel’s peace

To wear where’er I go,

And faith my shield to quench the

Flaming arrows of the foe.



The Spirit’s sword - the Word of God

Help me to use it well,

Quick in my thoughts and on my lips

To stop the lies of hell.



O Holy Spirit, cover me -

A mantle round about,

And Jesus’ blood be like a wall

To keep all evil out.



Your banner over me be love

As 'neath Your cross I stand,

And let your mighty angels

Fight for me on every hand.



I put on Christ in every way

That I Your bride may be.

“It is no longer I who live,

But Christ who lives in me.”



So may I truly be prepared

To watch and pray with You,

That others may see You in me,

In all I say and do. Amen
